Rob Aldridge

• Instrument: Double Bass

Edmonton's own Rob Aldridge began studies on the double bass with Patricia Brine as a young boy. He then studied with John Taylor at Grant MacEwan College where he was schooled in jazz and popular music forms.

He completed his Bachelor of music at McGill University and a Masters in music performance from Yale University. Mr. Aldridge was a part time professor at the University of Ottawa as well as a freelance musician in various orchestras prior to joining the ESO.

Rob loves good food and is a big fan of Belgian beer. He is looking forward to exploring Edmonton's restaurants with his fiancée Joanne Yu. Rob likes world politics, sports, exercise and good company.
