-3 # nopark 2011-09-04 00:34 It's very unfair that ESO and listeners take up the whole park for three days. No one else can get in there. They have river to Groat Road parking. We have too few summer weekends to dock so many of them off to one special interest group, with special income to match. The people who need Hawrelak Park in our 8-12 summer weekends are people who do not have yards, condos in Canmore, cannot afford to take holidays abroad, skiing weekends all winter and would like more restorative and re-creating spaces than a mall to enjoy them. 0 # Melissa Urusky 2011-09-04 08:18 Those of us who love the symphony or enjoy orchestral/classical music do not all have money to throw around. I enjoy and appreciate very much being able to go to a beautiful outdoor setting to listen - while my kids don't have to sit still- without the cost of the usual tickets
It's such a blessing. It's one weekend out of the summer, and without it, we wouldn't be able to enjoy the symphony as a family. Thanks so much you guys!.

0 # music lover 2011-09-08 07:19 Park goers not attending the concerts can also use the Park and Ride that weekend. I agree that parking is a problem - that's life. 12,000 people attended the wonderful ESO concerts this weekend and many, many more enjoyed the music at no cost from outside the amphitheatre. Luckily Edmonton has numerous beautiful parks. If you don't like the music or the hassle, you should try one of the others that weekend. Reply | Reply with quote | Quote
