  • Mozart holds a unique spot in the hearts and minds of all ESO musicians, and this special evening celebrates that devotion and affection. Bob Bernhardt and Edmonton's finest musicians perform their favourites from the rich treasure trove of music by the genius from Salzburg.

  • Celtic Kaleidoscope
  • The breadth of Celtic music stretches from simple jigs and reels to the unmistakable sound of the bagpipes to spectacular symphonic showpieces. Bill Eddins leads a concert of Celtic traditions, including classical favourites by John Field and our own Allan Gilliland, arrangements of familiar Irish, Scottish and Welsh folk melodies, and selections from Brigadoon and Lord of the Dance (with the Knock School of Irish Dance).

  • A Lightly Classical Christmas
  • The ESO taps into a rich vein of holiday sentiment and memory on a night devoted to the beloved classical and traditional music of the season. Treasured holy and holiday classics, carols, sleigh rides, and lots of other musical gifts are in store, from exquisite orchestral arrangements to grand choral masterpieces. Come early to hear pianist Simon-Marc de Freitas perform in the main lobby beginning at 7:15 pm, as part of our Musicians in the Making program, generously supported by TELUS.

  • Martin Riseley returns to the Robbins Lighter Classics series to play a dazzling array of his favourite "party pieces." From the lyricism of a quiet Gershwin song to the dashing display of a playful Tchaikovsky waltz, this will be a journey - and an evening - to remember.

  • Some of the most innovative and interesting uses of symphonic and operatic music can be found at the movies. This concert, featuring musical classics featured in well-known film scores, demonstrates how classical music has contributed to the musical ambience of Hollywood.
