  • Sparkling Classics
  • Three of classical music’s most treasured works are showcased by the ESO and two of our most popular artists. Bill Eddins steps into the role of guest piano soloist, taking on Gershwin’s vivacious, jazz-influenced Concerto in F. Bob Bernhardt conducts Mussorgsky’s rousing A Night on Bare Mountain and Mendelssohn’s shimmering “Italian” Symphony.

  • Operamania!
  • Opera has not only given the world some of its favourite vocal music, but also some of its greatest orchestral works as well. Canadian soprano Kathleen Brett showcases operatic delights from The Mikado, The Marriage of Figaro and more. You'll also hear orchestral works like the William Tell Overture, The Ride of the Valkyries, and a suite from Carmen.

  • Hollywood Adventures and Romances
  • Our annual “movie night” has rapidly become one of the festival’s favourite programs, and Bob Bernhardt has put together a program of winning music from Oscar-winning movies! Enjoy a summer night of music from Titanic, The Wizard of Oz, Beauty and the Beast, The Lord of the Rings, and much more.

  • Bring your little ones for a show that is just right for them! This concert is one hour long, without intermission. Let's all go to the 3-ring musical circus! Filled with magic, movement and classic miniatures. Lisa and Linda, along with special instrumental guests, create a magical musical experience which educates, entertains, and inspires the entire family. This performance does not feature the ESO.

  • Simply Sinatra with Steve Lippia
  • Steve Lippia brings his uncanny Sinatra style and conjures a night of vocal magic. Songs include New York, New York, My Way, That's Life, You Make Me Feel So Young, Cheek to Cheek, and many more. Come Fly with Us; The Best is Yet to Come!

  • From Trumpets to Tchaikovsky
  • Favourite Edmonton son Jens Lindemann brings extraordinary musicianship and a disarming stage presence to the festival’s final afternoon, presenting a dynamic mix of virtuosity and lyricism, in music by Gershwin, Haydn, and Bizet. Our 2009 Young Composer, Jia Jia Yong, will have her piece premiered at this performance. And as ever, the guns of the Royal Canadian Artillery supply the awe-inspiring cannonades to Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture in the weekend’s grand finale.
