  • ESO Fundraising Gala with Dmitri Hvorostovsky
  • It's an evening to celebrate, with all the glamour, excitement and spectacular music that you've come to expect from our annual Fundraising Gala. Anyone who has heard the profound voice of Dmitri Hvorostovsky knows the power, the drama, and the innate musicality he possesses. Anyone who has seen him on stage knows that he is one of the most charismatic performers of his generation.

  • Oktoberfest!
  • A fun show for the whole family! The ESO is proud to present the Canadian debut of Sonnenschein (“Sunshine”) Express - a mainstay of Disney’s Epcot Theme Park - celebrating the lively tradition of Bavarian alpine music, complete with button accordion, tuba, musical saw, and of course alpenhorns. Sing along, clap along, laugh along, and even learn how to yodel with these six happy wanderers!

  • Lest We Forget with John McDermott
  • Beloved Canadian singer John McDermott returns to the ESO stage to offer a heartfelt salute to all those who have bravely served their country.

  • Handel's Messiah (Fri)
  • Jean-Marie Zeitouni conducted an acclaimed Messiah with the ESO in 2007. He returns on December 4 & 5 to conduct the ESO's annual performance of one of the world's most cherished works of faith and inspiration. Featuring the University of Alberta Madrigal Singers, i Coristi Chamber Choir and four soloists making their ESO debut.

  • Canadian Tenors Christmas Concert
  • Fuse the incredibly powerful tenor voices of four talented young men with diverse vocal styles, undeniable charm and individual international success, with an evening of Holiday favourites for a Christmas event to remember. Since their debut in 2007, The Canadian Tenors have criss-crossed the globe performing more than 150 concerts and sharing the stage with such luminaries as former President Bill Clinton, Quincy Jones, Wyclif Jean, Andrea Bocelli and Canada's musical maestro David Foster.

  • A Family Christmas Concert
  • This special matinee performance for the whole family is the perfect way to get those sugar plums dancing! Favourite ESO guest conductor Steven Reineke will be joined by our new Resident Conductor Lucas Waldin and special guests for holiday songs and carols, and a performance of the magical animated film The Snowman, projected above the stage as the orchestra performs the score live. This performance will last approximately 75 minutes, without intermission.

  • Piano Spectacular
  • Pianos and pianists everywhere! The ESO presents a potent panoply of piano pleasures. This light-hearted, but highly musical evening will include piano solos, piano duets, pianos with orchestra - and anything else this smorgasbord of great keyboardists can conjure. Don’t miss this rare evening of all things pianistic.

  • The outstanding musicians of the Classical Mystery Tour have twice blown ESO audiences away with their powerhouse symphonic salute to The Beatles. So don't miss those same musicians when they present Live and Let Die. Tony Kishman's award-winning re-creation of the sound and look of Paul McCartney will dazzle you in combination with the power of a full orchestra. From his great songs with The Beatles to his outstanding solo music, Paul McCartney's legacy comes alive on the Winspear stage for one night only.
