In its 17th season, Symphony Under the Sky brings the summer festival season to a close. Come enjoy the fresh air and sounds of your ESO in Hawrelak Park’s Heritage Ampitheatre.

Conductor Bob Bernhardt returns to lead the orchestra at Symphony Under the Sky for the sixth time.

  • This performance will take place at Hawrelak Park. Tickets for grass seating will be available at the on-site box office beginning at 5pm.
    Symphony Under the Sky fan favourite Bob Bernhardt opens Edmonton’s end of summer festival with a night full of well-known and best loved pieces from some of the greatest composers – Mozart, Handel, and Brahms.

  • A Breezy Broadway Afternoon
  • This performance will take place at Hawrelak Park. Tickets available at the on-site box office beginning at 12 pm.
    The ESO will travel to New York City in May 2012, but brings the sound of Broadway to Hawrelak Park on Labour Day weekend. Members of Strathcona High School's Les Misérables and Edmonton's own Broadway star Susan Gilmour join the orchestra for an afternoon of familiar tunes.

  • This performance will take place in Hawrelak Park. Tickets for grass seating will be available at the on-site box office beginning at 5pm on September 3.
    Lights, camera, action in the Park! Your ESO invites you to an evening filled with delightful tributes to the greatest movies out of Hollywood from composers like John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, Danny Elfman and Ennio Morricone. Be a part of the perfect soundtrack as the summer sun sets over the lake.

    Get ready for an outrageously fun afternoon with a true master of mischief, mayhem and melody, Al Simmons. This performance is not part of the weekend pass, and does not include the ESO.

    Legendary singer-songwriter Ian Tyson returns to join your ESO with selections including Love Without End, Someday Soon, Summer’s Gone, Bob Fudge, Somewhere in the Rubies, La Primera, and festival favourite, Four Strong Winds, chosen in 2005 by CBC Radio One listeners as the greatest Canadian song of all time.

  • This performance has reached its advance sale capacity. Additional tickets for grass seating will be available at the Hawrelak Park on-site box office beginning at 11:30am on September 5.
    Edmonton raised pianist Sarah Ho joins your ESO to present Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue before the outstanding festival finale featuring the guns of the Royal Canadian Artillery in Tchaikovsky’s powerful 1812 Overture. This is a festival tradition you don’t want to miss!
